Skye I.P.A.

This month saw the release of our very first India Pale Ale, Skye's hoppiest ale to date.

I.P.A. can be considered the first 'global' beer, before lager took it's grip on the world's beer lovers. There are a number of uncertainties regarding the origins and history of I.P.A., however, it is commonly thought that, due to Britain's territories in India being too hot to brew, beer was exported from Britain to offer servicemen an alternative to the strong, local tipples available at the time.

Skye I.P.A. is a new take on the classic I.P.A. style, utilising the rare Japanese Sorachi Ace hop. This gives an intense citrus aroma, with a refreshing, lemongrass taste, light oak and caramel malt background, and clean, crisp finish.

Our stunning new I.P.A. will be added to the line-up at some of our favourite bars across Scotland.
